General Munir Condoles Palestinian Ambassador
Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir met with the Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan, Ahmad Jawad Rabi, expressing condolences for the Palestinians who have lost their lives in the ongoing Gaza conflict. The meeting occurred at the General Headquarters of the Pakistan Army. General Asim Munir, the Chief of the Pakistan Army, strongly denounced the forced eviction of Palestinians from Gaza as a clear crime against humanity. He emphasized that it would be absurd to link this war with terrorism.
Furthermore, Pakistan reaffirmed its unwavering support for an independent Palestinian state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital. General Asim Munir called on the international community to take immediate action to end the humanitarian tragedy resulting from the disproportionate and unlawful use of force by the Israeli Defense Forces.
Expressing deep concern for the brutal and indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians by the Israeli Defense Forces, General Asim Munir condemned the continuous attacks on civilian populations, educational and aid workers, as well as hospitals.
He attributed the latest surge of violence in Gaza to the repression, ongoing human rights violations, and state-sanctioned desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing the need to stop perpetuating these blatant human rights violations. General Asim Munir noted that Israel’s selfishness and narrow-mindedness were responsible for the ongoing oppression and that the Israeli army’s actions reflected a violation of humanity and civil values.
Meanwhile, General Asim Munir extended his good wishes on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the United Nations, emphasizing that Pakistan’s armed forces follow the principles of the United Nations Charter. He highlighted Pakistan’s history of contributing to UN peacekeeping missions, dating back to 1947 when Pakistan first joined such missions. Pakistan’s involvement in UN peacekeeping efforts began in 1969, with the deployment of its first contingent to UN operations in the Congo. General Asim Munir underscored that 170 soldiers, including 24 officers, had sacrificed their lives in UN peacekeeping missions.
On the occasion of the 78th Foundation Day of the United Nations, the Chief of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, General Syed Asim Munir, emphasized the unique history of Pakistan’s contributions to the UN and called on the international community to fulfill its collective commitment to the Kashmiri people’s right to a referendum, as secured by various UN Security Council resolutions.

Meanwhile, Israeli authorities are considering delaying or potentially canceling the decision for ground operations in Gaza for an extended period. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh expressed strong criticism of the international community’s support for Israel’s actions, calling on Arab and Islamic leaders to respond to the ongoing tragedy in Gaza. The senior advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister stated that even if Hamas withdraws from all of Peer Ghamali, Israel will not allow fuel to be supplied to Gaza.
The situation remains tense, with different nations and leaders expressing varying perspectives on the ongoing conflict, and the international community is divided on the path to a resolution.
