Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi gave in-principle approval for the first cancer hospital at the official level in Lahore and called for a plan in this regard. Mohsin Naqvi visited Manawan Hospital and inspected the proposed land for the cancer hospital and hospital building. The caretaker chief minister inspected the building adjacent to the main building of the hospital and was given the task of converting the Manawan hospital into a cancer hospital.

Mohsin Naqvi said that Punjab is a province of 14 crore people, and there is not a single state-of-the-art cancer hospital. It is the responsibility of the government to provide a state-of-the-art hospital at the government level to the patients. The Caretaker Chief Minister directed to decide on the design of the cancer hospital and other issues soon and said that planning should also be done to buy machinery and equipment. A meeting was held in the committee room of Manawan Hospital under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi, in which the affairs of the cancer hospital were reviewed.


                           


Apart from this, in the context of the smog situation, it has been decided not to have a holiday on Wednesday in the educational institutions of Punjab this week. A special meeting regarding anti-smog measures was held in the Chief Minister’s office under the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi, in which the provincial ministers also participated. In the meeting, it was agreed not to have a holiday on Wednesday based on the improvement in the air quality index. Mohsin Naqvi directed the Inspector General of Police and Secretary of Transport to continue an effective crackdown against smoke-emitting vehicles.

The Caretaker Chief Minister directed that indiscriminate action against smog-causing brick kilns and factories should also be continued, factories emitting more than the prescribed amount of smoke and burning tires would be sealed. Mohsin Naqvi ordered the commissioner and the deputy commissioner to take full action against those who burn crop residue, and immediate action will be taken against those who sell substandard fuel. The caretaker chief minister further directed that the district administration should continuously sprinkle water on the roads to clear their roads. Covering of sand and gravel and spraying of water for construction activities should be ensured, and legal action should be ensured against measures causing smog.

Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to Central Jail Kot Lakhpat, Mohsin Naqvi visited male and female prisoners and interacted with them and inquired about the problems. The caretaker Chief Minister participated in the ongoing Mahfil Milad in Barrack No. 9 and prayed together with the prisoners. Mohsin Naqvi ordered free eye surgery at the request of the prisoners and directed them to set up a special medical camp in the jail for the treatment of the prisoners. The caretaker Chief Minister ordered the LDA officials to deal with the citizens’ issues immediately and directed that there should be no unnecessary delay in dealing with the LDA-related issues of the citizens. Later, Mohsin Naqvi made a detailed visit to the district headquarters hospital Okara late at night without notice, after the visit of MS Hospital, Deputy Commissioner Okara and DPO Mohsin Naqvi reached the hospital. Inspected medical, lab, trauma center, and dialysis center, also visited child ward, CT scan, and other departments for 2 hours.
