High Court Holds Sector SHO Accountable for Underage Driver Accidents, Orders E-License Issuance

The Lahore High Court has mandated that in the event of a major accident in an area caused by a young driver, the SHO and traffic sector in charge of that area will face legal action. According to the police report, 2986 cases have been filed against underage drivers without a license. The cases were dismissed due to the withdrawal of the application for the inclusion of provisions.

Additional Advocate General Ghulam Sarwar Nahang stated that, according to the police report, they have been taking actions based on court orders. Since November 13, they have registered 2,986 cases against underage drivers and individuals without a license. The court asked about the age of the accused, Aftan. The lawyer mentioned that the accused was seventeen years old. The court then questioned the investigating officer about the police's actions against the owner of the vehicle. The officer informed the court that the vehicle owner, Shafqat Ali, is due for interim bail on Monday.

After apprehending Ibrahim, the interrogator stated the necessity of investigating his friends. The court commented that the police should now arrest the entire population of Lahore. The court instructed CT Ola Hore to issue compulsory e-licenses to individuals lacking a license.
