Next week, the High Court will decide if pricing should be controlled by the federal government or the province.

The Lahore High Court conducted a hearing on the application addressing price control for essential commodities such as sugar and ghee. The court will address the question of whether the mechanism for determining prices should be controlled by the federation or the province at the next hearing.

During the hearing, the government lawyer presented a report on price determination and asserted that the ordinance outlining the mechanism had been prepared.

The government lawyer stated that the ordinance has been forwarded to the relevant authority for issuing a gazette notification, and the schedule has specified the essentials. The court emphasized the importance of ensuring that the rules and regulations for prices are not suspended.
