Pakistan has once again secured a position as a member of the UNESCO Executive Board for the term 2023 to 2027.

Pakistan, through a majority vote, has secured re-election to the Executive Board of UNESCO for the term spanning from 2023 to 2027. The Permanent Representative of Pakistan to UNESCO in France expressed gratitude to member countries for their support and trust in Pakistan. The representative stated that Pakistan, with pride, accepts the responsibility to serve on the Executive Board and emphasized the commitment to collaborating with all member countries to advance shared objectives.

Pakistan plans to leverage this opportunity to actively contribute to policy-making, the development of norms, the promotion of global priorities, and the effective monitoring of the Organization's programs and activities. The statement highlights Pakistan's consistent appreciation for UNESCO's vital role as a global forum that fosters global peace and development through the intellectual and moral development of mankind, education, science, culture, and communication.

Pakistan, as a proponent of multilateralism, commits to persistently bridging gaps between diverse global regions and fostering consensus on crucial matters to attain tangible and substantive outcomes. The statement underscores Pakistan's role as a partner in the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) operational strategy and worldwide initiatives, emphasizing its unwavering backing for Africa and gender equality.
