Tuesday's earthquake in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh



Tuesday's earthquake in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district had a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale.

There have been no reports of casualties or property damage thus far.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in Nainital, Uttaranchal, not far from Haldwani.

At 2:57 p.m., there were tremors detected earlier. The United States Geological Survey reports that an earthquake struck Nanital City on Tuesday and that they anticipate aftershocks. Even days or months after the initial earthquake, there may be many aftershocks.

Following a quake of magnitude four in June of this year, a mild earthquake of mild strength was reported in the Chamoli district and surrounding parts of Uttarakhand.
