Andre Braugher, celebrated for his roles in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Homicide: Life on the Street, passed away at 61 after a brief illness. Known for his distinctive voice, he earned an Emmy for Homicide in 1998 and gained fame as Captain Holt in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Born in 1962 in Chicago, Braugher studied drama at Juilliard. 

His impactful career spanned three decades, earning him two Emmys. In 2020, he spoke about the challenges of portraying police on TV. Tributes poured in from co-stars like Terry Crews and Chelsea Peretti. Braugher is survived by his wife, Ami Brabson, and three sons.
