Leaders Condemn India's Unilateral Actions in Jammu and Kashmir

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq stated that we firmly reject the Supreme Court of India's decision on the status of Jammu and Kashmir, which is under the illegal occupation of India. An exclusive meeting is being convened, and I will attend, as discussed with Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq during his visit here on Tuesday. Anwar emphasized our categorical rejection of the Supreme Court of India's decision on the status of India's illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized conflict that the United Nations Security Council has had on its agenda for over seven decades. It should align with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, and India does not possess the right to unilaterally determine the status of the disputed territory, contravening the will of the Kashmiri people and the requirements of international law and justice.

India's actions on August 15, 2019, attempting to alter the demographic structure and political landscape of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, represent a clear violation of international law and relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. India cannot evade its international responsibilities under the guise of decisions.
