PTI Founder's Disqualification Challenge Progresses Amid NAB Notices

Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of Lahore High Court has referred the petition challenging the five-year disqualification of the founder chairman of PTI to a larger bench for consideration. In his chamber, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan discussed the petition from the founder chairman of PTI and indicated that the larger bench led by Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan was considering similar applications. He also forwarded this specific application for deliberation within the larger bench.

NAB Rawalpindi, in connection with irregularities, issued a final notice to the wife of the former chairman of PTI, Bushra Bibi, urging her to return the received gifts. The notice specifies a deadline of December 11 for Bushra Bibi to bring back the gifts obtained from Shahkhana. As per the notice, she was summoned on December 11, citing items received in different years, including lockets, rings, earrings, bra sets, and other valuables.

In the ongoing 190 million pound corruption case, the accountability court has released advertisements featuring the co-accused of the founder chairman of PTI, namely Mirza Shahzad Akbar, Zulfi Bukhari, and Farah Gogi. These advertisements have been prominently displayed in Jo Dashel Complex, Islamabad. Advertisements for accused Zia Al-Mustafa and other absconding individuals have also been issued. Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir, through an advertisement, has summoned the accused to appear in court on January 6. The hearing, related to the Iddat Nikah case against B, was adjourned without proceeding at the request of the petitioner's lawyer.
