Lakers Halt Thunder’s Winning Streak with 112-105 Victory: Davis and James Lead the Charge

Anthony Davis scored 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while LeBron James contributed 25 points, as the Los Angeles Lakers halted the Oklahoma City Thunder’s four-game winning streak with a 112-105 victory yesterday.

The Lakers, securing only their sixth win in 18 games, held off the powerhouse Thunder in the fourth quarter. Two of their victories have come against Oklahoma City.

LeBron James, returning from his fourth missed game of the season due to injury, scored 17 points in the second half. His driving layup with 8:53 remaining gave the Lakers the game’s first double-digit lead at 93-82.

D’Angelo Russell added 14 points and seven assists, and the Lakers’ defensive effort was crucial in the win. The Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander managed to score 24 points, playing through a right knee sprain.

Despite Jalen Williams’ 25 points, Chet Holmgren and Josh Giddey struggled offensively, combining for only 17 points for the Thunder. The Lakers’ defensive plan and execution were praised by Thunder coach Mark Daigneault, acknowledging that the Lakers deserved the victory.
